Who do I work with?

Although I don’t specialise in any specific industries, I have lots of experience writing for food companies, local government, charities and educational platforms. One of the things I love most about working freelance is the variety of work I do and learning about new topics. So whether it's a deep research project on Autism support in education, the benefits of super seeds for perimenopause, or an overview of gym flooring materials - I've got you.

The Copywriting Process

1. Briefing

I like to kick off all new client relationships by speaking directly, whether that’s in person or online (Zoom, Teams or Google are all great).  During this conversation we will discuss things like your goals, your positioning, your tone of voice, your competitors, your customers, your website, your app, your social posts, your packaging….whatever I need to get the best results for you.

2. Agreement

Once we’ve completed the briefing, I'll send you a quote and a contract outlining the scope of the work with payment terms and other important details. I’ll provide you with a breakdown of my costs and how long it will take to deliver the work. I normally ask for a 50% for new clients, with full payment required on delivery.

3. Research

Research is one of the most crucial elements of my work, and before I start writing I investigate everything from SEO keywords to competitor analysis. My background is academic so I’m skilled at carrying out detailed qualitative and quantitative research. Sometimes this involves interviewing key stakeholders, collaborating with subject experts, or carrying out primary research.

4. Delivery

After I end you a first draft of your copy, I'll ask you to review it and give feedback on the style, tone and content. At this stage, you can request any changes you feel it needs within the scope of the project and I’ll produce a second draft which you can review for minor edits and changes. After this, your copy will be reviewed, edited, and proofread to ensure quality and consistency. If you'd like me to upload it to your website I can do this too, and add in details for SEO such as keywords and metatags.
